Caherlistrane is based in north County Galway straddling the Galway/Mayo border and nestled between our neighbouring Galway clubs Headford, Annnaghdon and Corofin. Our club comprises members from the parishes of Caherlistrane and Kilcoona. It plays home matches in Caherlistrane and participates in competitions across all ages from juvenile to adult.
Eircode: H91 HF78
Caherlistrane’s continued success stems from the extraordinary commitment of its many volunteers and is underpinned by a strong sense of history with many generations of the same families involved in the club and tracing their Gaelic Games pedigrees in the area back to the foundation of the club in the 19th century. Since then the club has thrived at the heartbeat of the communities of Caherlistrane and Kilcoona with many new families bringing a new sense of identity and history for the club. Caherlistrane GAA Club is proud to be one of the oldest established Gaelic Football clubs in Galway. The clubs one success in the Galway Senior Football Championship came in 1890. In recent times, the club has looked to bridge this long gap, reaching the semi-finals in 2008. In 2006, the senior team reached the 2006 All-Ireland Intermediate Club Football Championship Final but lost to Inniskeen Grattan’s of Monaghan.
